Aprils 1st Update

For those of you who have been bugging me to write- here you are for the first time ever, I, April, am writing our blog. Today was a long day for me, and for those of you who care, I thought I would up date you on what happened- No, no labor or delivery yet…
Last week as Chris updated you, I had high blood pressure, when I was at my Dr.’s apt, and they wanted me to come back this week to check it again- and again today my blood pressure was high- once they laid me down on my side it seemed to go down, but the Dr. said that it tends to be high which she wasn’t very happy about. She asked me to go get an ultra sound to make sure the baby was surrounded my enough amniotic fluid, and then she wanted to test my urine to make sure I wasn’t leaking too much protein. I had a lunch date so I had to cancel – so sorry girls!
I called Chris and told him what was going on and although it would have been nice to have him with me to see the ultra sound, we decided I could do it on my own. I went to get the ultra sound and then back to the hospital to the lab. I was on my way home at around 4:15 and my dr. called me and asked me to come back the hospital, she was concerned about the results of the ultra sound. I guess the baby is small- which I have no problem with (6lbs, 8 oz according to the ultra sound- which always could be wrong). If I go late and it looks like that will be the case- imagine how big he will be- yuck!
I called Chris and told him what was going on and we both agreed that it was better for him to not bother coming down until it was clear if they were going to keep me. Anyway, she wanted to do a non stress test, this was not so much fun-I laid there for over an hour with a blood pressure band around my arm and bands with monitors on my belly listening to the babies heart beat (that was the only cool part it was so soothing hearing his heart beat…) By the way it is for sure a boy! So then the dr. ordered blood tests and the nurse took blood and then made me bled all over- she wasn’t very good at drawing blood, I think I am going to have a bruise. I then waited for what seemed like forever and finally the dr. came and told me EVERY THING IS FINE- the baby is fine, the blood tests came back fine, my urine was fine and my blood pressure although it is high in comparison to my normal – is still fine… SO in the end I guess we are FINE.

I have another dr. apt on Thursday so we will see what she has to say then and hopefully if something doesn’t seem right we can get this show on the road rather than waiting.

Tonight, when I got home from the hospital at 6:45, Chris and I went on our last “date” as non-parents, at least we think so… We went to Olive Garden and we ate WAY too much- but it is soooo good! Hopefully we will be parents soon, but with the track record my mom set, I might have another 2 weeks, Chris will freak out if that happens he is MORE than ready now. I am willing to go with the flow- since if I get my hopes up of going soon- it will for sure be another 2 weeks, so maybe I will be surprised and go sometime this week, I guess we will see what the Lord has in store for us- and we will keep you posted.

2 DAYS!! News, but not from us

This weekend was unfortunately, somewhat uneventful for us. But for some close friends of ours, who were actually due a week after us, had their baby on Saturday. Alexandra Kaitlin Lopez was born to Dan and Erin, wieghing 6 lbs, 2oz. We went to visit them yesterday and she is so small. We are really excited for them. They will definately be someone who we will have play dates with. You can visit their website at DESTINATION: Lopez. If you are interested, they had a really crazy delivery and you can read about it there.

We did finish getting all the things we NEED to be ready for our boy. We got the changing table pad, crib/sleeping pad, and some other stuff. So, we still need to put in the car seat and April has been putting off packing, which Chris has been harping on her to do. So at this point, it is just a waiting game.

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW?

We would really love for people to comment and ask us quesitons. Maybe there are things that we havn’t mentioned or things you are dying to know. If that is the case, just click on the comment link below and write a comment, which we will get and respond to.

Nursery Update

So, what does everyone think of the nursery?

Please leave a comment. Just click onthe comment link at the bottom of the post. The nursery isn’t 100% done yet but darn close.
For valentines day, Chris got April a glider and ottoman that she really wanted. And it is sooo comfortable. We were able to pick it up from Babies R us last night. It will be perfect to rock and/or feed our boy in, in the middle of the night and probably fall asleep in.
