1.5 centimeters and Counting. . .
At 1:30 today april had her normal check up at the dr.s and turns out she is 1.5 centimeters dialated. So, needless to say, the day is getting close. In fact, hmmm, could it be that our boy may come. . . EARLY? Chris has had his bets on early for at least the last week and is pretty self satisfied at the moment that it looks like he will be right. Even more, it looks like this boy will be a “LaGarde”. Thats said because it is generally known between us that Chris is the early one, and April is the, generally later one. Though she has gotten very good at watching the time.
Anyway, for those who are not in the “know” about pregnancy terms (that included Chris until we started birth classes)1.5 centimeters does NOT mean we rush to the hospital. It just means that the day is coming closer. The next thing we will be looking for are contractions at regular intervals. Once that happens, it means that “early labor” is starting, and at the point we call our Doula, Katie and she will come on over to help out in whatever way she can. Once the contractions are a certain length in time apart, something like 5 minutes, we will head to the hospital.
