First Real Smiles

Well, we finally have it, the first real smile. Why do I say real? Because Logan would smile all the time but it was mostly because he either had gas or was going #2. Nice  huh? Most babys do that. But, in the last few days we have noticed him smiling more often, especially it seemed in reaction to us. We were lucky enough to get a picture or two of it. So enjoy.

On another note, the pictures are slowing down a bit. Good thing because we have over 500 of them. I mean, there is only so many pictures of a baby that are interesting. Also, for Easter, we bought him a really cute outfit with a vest. We will take plenty of pics and post them after the weekend.

This weekend will be really cool. Chris is leading worship music for Calvary Fellowship Church’s Good Friday service, so if you are in the area, please join us. It starts at 7:30 pm and will center around worshipping Christ for going to the Cross, and help us get in the “good friday” mindset.

We are also having Chris’s older brother, Rich and his family come up, which we are really excited for. They have not met Logan yet and we know it will be a blast. Additionally, Chris’s Aunt Bea and Uncle Paul are coming too, who have not met him either.

If we don’t write before then, have a blessed Easter weekend!

Birthday dinner

Logan holding his Dads hand

Last night(monday), we left our little boy for the first time, ever.

April’s birthday is coming up and Chris wanted to give her a very special present a bit early, both b/c of excitement and b/c family will be up this weekend, and he wants them to see it. So, we decided to go to one of our more favored local restaurants called “The Olive Tree”, not to be confused with our favorite restaurant “Olive Garden”. This one is off of 113, on the right side as you go towards Downingtown, right after the WaWa at Peck Road.

We left Logan with April’s family. G’ma Marjorie, Auntie Renee and Great G’pa Steve were there. Eventually, G’pa Ken arrived as well. They watched him from about 6:30 to 9 ish when we got back. They were a little disappointed because he slept the whole time, especially Great G’pa, he loves logan so much, its cute.

We had a good time. We didn’t fret much about being away from Logan. In fact, it felt quite natural. We both had a great dinner, April ordered Chicken Soulvlacki and I had shrimp and Scallop kebobs. Once we were done dinner, April got her presents. The first one she opened was Harry Potter 1 and Harry Potter 4, the DVD’s. She had asked for them. The next one was the special one. And here it is. . .

It is a 20 page, professionally printed, hard linen cover book of Logan’s birth and first few weeks. It came out great. Chris used Apple’s iPhoto to lay the book out and mypublisher.com to get it printed. If you are using a (don’t say it!) Windows PC, you can download software from mypublisher.com which will do a similar job, but not as good of course, as Apple’s iPhoto. The book looks like you bought it from Barnes and Nobles. We highly recommend it, they make great presents. April loves hers.

Anyway, we got back to April’s parents and hung out there for a bit, and evenutally went home. Logan was an angel. We are so blessed!

If anyone is interested in seeing a pdf version of the book Chris gave April, you can download it here. Be warned tho, it is 14 MB, so it is no small file.

Our Condolences. . .

I have to comment on this – On friday, my good friend dan, from “destinationLopez” had a terrible thing happen to him, not tragic, but terrible. Someone hacked the server his website was hosted on and deleted his website. Unfortunately, he may not have a very recent back up. So, best case scenario, he recovers some of his site but loses a bunch of entries concerning the first month of life of his daughter. Worse case scenario, he loses it all. Which either way would be a real shame.

Now, if this happened to me, I would be very, VERY, upset. This is why i am backing up my site once a week from now on. BUT, still, it is very upsetting. I am sure this person who did this is probably a lonely, self centered, isolated person. Probably a high school kid into technology with nothing better to do than try to sabotage sites. It is very unfortunate.

Dan actually has a letter to this person on his site currently. It uses some strong language. So if you don’t like strong language don’t read it. I personally feel there are times that certain words can be used and are permissable and I feel he is using language correctly in this case. Dan – if you read this – just know, that if we ever find the guy, know i “gotcher back, yo!”!
