Back to Normal

Making up for lost time

A Slip of the Tongue

Lately Logan has found his tongue it is funny to watch him he will stick it out and then pull it back in. When we give him kisses on his mouth- he licks us, and yes drools on us- ick! It is so fun to see how much he is growing up!

Weekend Update

On Thursday morning early, Chris and about 6 other guys left their wives for a camping/ hiking trip. Chris got up at 3:30 am and picked up another guy arrived at CFC and they all left the parking lot by 5:30- they went to West Virginia and enjoyed a mens weekend away- Chris truly enjoyed the “guy time” and came back refreshed and ready to start the work week! I am sure Chris will give you a more “in-depth” version of his weekend some time soon.

I met a friend for lunch on thursday and then went to Brandon’s viewing, Logan was babysat by Aunt Renee for the first time while I was away and behaved himself so hopefully Renee will babysit again! On Friday I left Logan with D’amma (Mrs. LaGarde) and went to the funeral. Logan was good except for a bit of gas which they worked out ~ I came home to them all (including Ashlea) laying on our couch! After my Aunt Nancy stopped in for a visit Logan and I headed out to my parents (with so much stuff it looked like we were moving there) and we stayed out there until Chris came home.

While we were out there visiting my grandfather came down to visit and hold Logan, he loves Logan to death! He kisses him and tells him how much he loves him! He makes me want to cry every time he comes by and every time he visits he brings up how much my Grandmother (who died 4 years ago on the 17th) would have loved to see and meet Logan, how much she would have loved him and cared for him~ I have to change the subject every time or we both would be sitting there in a puddle of our tears.

On Saturday night I went to a “girls night”, organized by some of the wives who were “left behind”, we had 6 girls total, 4 of which were “left behind” and the other 2 left their husbands for us- we had a great time! Thank you Jessica and Jen for organizing it and for the delicious taco bar! yum!

2 Month check up

Today we had our two month old check up with Dr. Alex, she (yes she) said that Logan looks great and that he is growing right on track- he is in the 50th percentile for weight (which is 11lbs, 5 oz) and 10th percentile for height. He of course, as all you moms know, had his first shots. Baby and mom are doing alright. I (april) seriously thought I would have a harder time with this than Logan- but as it turned out- instead of crying I laughed. What a horrible mother I am- I had to laugh to keep from crying so I guess it is my defense mechanism. Of course Logan cried, but we popped a bottle in his mouth and he shut up and then fell asleep. What a good baby we have! He has been sleeping pretty much ever since, he just woke up to eat and for some tylonol.

Do Your Ears Hang Low?

Little Logan actually likes to be dressed~ but I take advantage of it and do things like this and then take a picture! what a mean mommy I am…
