Home at last!

Logan and I are home at last- it seems as though we went into a time warp and came out missing a few days… Logan is looking and feeling so much better- THANK YOU to all the wonderful nurses and doctors at Chester County Hospital and All Star Pediatric… they were all so GREAT! Thank you all for your prayers and for the calls and visits…

For all you freaked out mothers out there, whom we saw this past week- I am soo soo sorry that we scared you, believe me I was freaked out also- for you… but as Chris wrote before~ Logan should not have been contagious, and even if we did see you and you were sitting next to us- the doctor pretty much said that he shouldn’t have been able to infect you or your baby unless you held him or changed his diaper, if either of you do get something the most it should be is a bit of a cold- so that makes us and hopefully you feel better about this entire thing.

We thank the Lord for guiding us and the doctors these last days and it seems we caught it early and it didn’t get nearly as bad as it could have. I was told many many times that us as mothers need to trust our instincts and I now know what they are talking about. The Lord gave us brains and motherly instincts for a reason so we need to use them- never let any doctor make you feel badly about things you think or do.

Well, I just want to say Happy Birthday to my brother Mike, he is 20 today and we are so happy to be home to celebrate with him! Happy Birthday Mikey, we love you!

One more day?

Ok, here is the latest. It is 11:30 pm Monday night. I just got back from the hospital. So as you can guess, Logan didn’t get to come home tonight, which is both a bummer and it’s ok with us. Here is the rundown:

Logan started out great this morning, very happy, no fever. But as the day progressed, he felt more and more warm. By about 3 pm his fever was back, at around 102. He also was having  diarrhea. Good news did come in the form that his cultures were negative for bacterial meningitis. Because of the fever and diarrhea, the doctors, and us, felt it best to stay another night. With hope, tomorrow will be a better day and he will be good enough to head home.

One interesting thing the doctor also said was that the incubation period for this is approx 7 – 10 days. Which is interesting. We really don’t know where he would have picked this up. Now, I do want to make one thing clear – there is very little chance that anyone would pick up meningitis from Logan. Viral Meningitis does not spread very easily. If he had been coughing or sneezing a lot, there might be more concern. So, please know this is NOT like bacterial meningitis, and no where near as dangerous. It is basically like a cold. If i, chris, were to get this, i would probably think i just had a cold or possibly the flu.

So there it is. With hope, our little man will be home tomorrow.

More updates as they are available.
