Picture of the Day

Logan has learned how to play peek-a-boo, he learned on the way down to Maryland last Saturday and loves playing now- you have to put something over his face and he pulls it down and smiles and giggles when you say- BOO! He hasn’t learned how to cover his own eyes yet, but I am sure he will pick it up soon enough…

Weekend Update with Logan LaGarde

Logan with his cousins Thomas and Elisabeth- aren’t they so cute!
We really haven’t had anything to write about in a while, Logan is still mischievous as ever, and constantly on the go.

We went away this weekend and saw our long lost family (or at least it seems) down in MD. We saw both of Chris’ brothers and we spent Saturday and 1/2 if Sunday with them hanging out and catching up. We caught most of Thomas’ football game on Saturday morning, they won 37 -0. Way to smoosh them guys! It was sooo cute watching all the little boys run around and try to tackle each other.

Saturday afternoon we ate lunch and visited, Tatiana (nick’s fiance) and Elisabeth (Chris’ niece) watched Logan most of the afternoon, so I got a much needed rest. Tatiana and Elisabeth are WONDERFUL! I wish they were here all the time! Logan loved them and had so much fun playing with them. He was treated like a king!

Saturday evening we went to a restaurant Mera-cesh (guessing on the spelling) it was Middle Eastern Restaurant. It was so cool! They have a wall full of celebrities who have come there, you are seated in a circle on couches around a small round table- they serve you 7 courses and each one they bring out on a large tray, they give you napkins and you all eat off the same tray with your fingers. We had a belly dancer come in and do her little dance- she actually danced for 15-20 min., she kept the audience involved- she had some of the girls get up and dance- thank goodness she didn’t ask me to get up… She came over and jiggled her hips at Logan and he just stared at her like “what are you doing lady”…

Here she is dancing with a sword on her hip she did really well, after this she ballanced the sword on her head!
Saturday night Logan pretty much refused to sleep from 11:30 to 2:30 am- he is teething, he was over tired and I think he was getting sick, plus he was in a strange place and hasn’t slept much in his pack and play. He is normally VERY good, especially when we are away. I was so exhausted since I had just fallen asleep when he woke up, we were in someone else’s house and Logan was SCREAMING. I was in panic mode for 3 hours. At 2:30 in the morning, Chris the miracle worker that he is, got Logan to calm down and go to sleep. I told him it wouldn’t last for long, but much to my disbelief, Logan slept almost the rest of the night thru. Damma, Elisabeth, Tatiana and Joanna, saved me in the morning and they took Logan when he woke up and I got to sleep in until 8:30…

We met up with the bike riders (Chris, Rich, Nick and Ben all rode in the Tour Du Port) at 11 for brunch and ate at an all you can eat buffet- they had all the delicious breakfast foods, they had tons of sea food, and a bunch of deserts. They had a sundae bar- yum yum. Of course I ate ice cream on my waffle with strawberries and tons of whipped topping- oh it makes my mouth water just thinking about it. They also had a live jazz band- and Logan couldn’t get enough of it. He was turning around in his seat to see the guys play, maybe he will be a musician like his daddy…?

Here he is turned around watching the band…

Both Chris and I started to feel like we were getting sick on Sunday night right before we went to bed, and by Monday morning we were both not feeling good. Logan miraculously slept thru the night on Sunday to Monday. Chris seems to be feeling better a little bit better than Logan and I. We had a rough night Monday to Tuesday so I called the Doctors office and got him in yesterday for an appointment. He had an ear infection in both ears and obviously had a cold. The doctor was not the one we usually see, so she was really surprised to see Logan crawling and standing up. She said since he is so advanced in his mobile ability he might lack in his speech. I wasn’t sure if she meant now or later so I didn’t say anything, but he sure isn’t lacking in his speech now, but maybe later down the road he will not start to talk as soon as he should. I think he was a little delayed in babbling now, but I think he is caught up, cause I can’t seem to get him to be quiet he loves to babble to him self, he screams and giggles at himself. He is a hoot!

He is now starting to let go of the things he pulled himself up on and he will actually stand for a second or two but once he realizes he isn’t hanging on he sits down. The doctor said to be prepared for him to be walking by 9 months, so I really need to get on this baby proofing soon! Right now we lock him in his play pen and let him play or we put him in his walker, where he can’t actually get into much trouble, but he loves it that he is standing and moving.

Well that is it for now, we will continue to put up “pictures of the day” for Damma and the rest of you who care enough to look.

Once In a Blue Moon. . .

Today is a very special day. As you know, I (chris) am a Apple Fanatic, and being such, I was super excited to see Apple announce the much awaited release of their new MacBook Pro’s. What made it even more thrilling is that I have been waiting for this announcement for the last 4 or 5 months, because I decided that when they did release them, I was gonna buy one. So I just about had a heart attack when I saw they are available. About a year ago I realized I would need a new computer and started saving. It is such a neat feeling when you save for something for a long time, and finally get to purchase it. It makes the purchase that much sweeter.

I was hoping to go to the Apple store in K.O.P and pick one up, but I had to order it online because they 17″, which is the one I bought isn’t in the stores for a week or so, so I just went ahead and ordered it online. I also bought a software program called “Paralles” which allows you to run windowns right along side of OS X, which I am super excited about. This means I won’t need two computers to work, I can just use my MBP.

One last note, my friend Dan and I were talking about the cost, and after looking into it, a dell with the comparable specs is actually more expensive. The Dell XPS M1710, with comparable specs, comes to $3044, while the MBP is $2700. Huh, imagine that! The Apple computer is ACTUALLY less money. Maybe Apple will take over the world. Also, the MacBook Pro 17″ is about 45% less volume than the Dell (4862 cubic cm vs 2690) and 25% less weight. Once I do get it and get everything up, I will post a review about the machine, for those few of you out there that do care about this stuff. So, with that said, (buy apple stock), see yall later.
