Thanks Giving

well, I know it is a bit late, but we had a GREAT thanksgiving.

Wednesday night we went over to the LaGarde’s and we had dinner with Damma, Pop-Pop, and Uncle Nick. We had a great time and Logan learned that he could crawl under their side table and he had a BLAST climbing in and out. It was like a fort!

On Thursday we went to the Boyes for meal number 1- thats right folks, #1! That must mean you had more than one meal you say- you are correct! We ate meal number one at the Boyes at 1- we had the full thing, everything was delicious, Logan had a great time and mommy let him do something he has never done before- he ate by him self- and he ate it all- thats right, he had turkey, mashed potatoes, jello, he didn’t have any stuffing, bread, green beans or cranberry sauce, ok, so not everything, but he was SO happy being able to eat turkey and potatoes. He ate so much he didn’t need a bottle and usually he eats a jar of baby food and is still hungry for a 6 oz bottle.

We are pitiful and we didn’t take any pictures of Logan on Thanksgiving Day but we have all of these from the night before and the days after.
We then sat around-Logan took a short nap and then around 5:30-6 we went up to the Kepiros for meal number 2 and again we had everything under the sun. And again, Logan ate everything we put on his plate. We had a blast and Logan was in his glory. He refused to go to sleep until we got in the car to leave. Everyone was loving on him and grandpa was taking him every where and letting him get into everything.

We relaxed the next day and then on Saturday night, we had dinner with the LaGardes again, this time Aunt Truby and Uncle Paul came too and we had a BIG dinner with them- Logan ate mac. and chicken, he even had a little bit of the roast damma cooked.

After dinner we went over to our friends house and hung out we talked and played with the kids, then we played a competitive game of Dutch Blitz- it was so much fun, but Chris and I embarrassed ourselves and got in a fight- that game always brings out the mean in us…

Logan fell asleep in his car seat in front of their TV watching baby einstein. He is so funny!

Sunday we sort of slept in- pretty much we slept as late as Logan let us. We skipped church and went to Young Marrieds we were able to socialize and then we went to lunch and did some more socializing! We then came home and just vegged!

That was some weekend! I can’t believe we don’t weight 300 pounds by now. Logan had a fit at dinner last night because he wanted to feed himself- so it looks like we are moving to solid foods. Fun stuff now I actually have to figure out what is a sensible breakfast, lunch and dinner- too much! ick soon he will be off his bottle and running around – I hate it that my little baby is growing up- I want him to stay little forever. =(

Things to be thankful for…

Well, as we approach Thanksgiving, I become more and more thankful for the things I have in my life- I married into a great family, I have a wonderful family, and Chris and Logan are the most precious, perfect things in my life.

We have so many great friends! We have a great time every time we get together with any of our friends.

We thank the Lord that Logan is growing up and becoming a “toddler” (ick- I hate it that he is growing up) he is learning new things everyday. He’s not as advanced as Aubrey who can say “moo” and “baa” when asked what a cow or sheep says- but he is climbing the stairs on his own- he has a grand time chasing the dog.

He is standing on his own, he won’t take a step but if you call him, he will sit down and crawl to you… He will be playing and without even realizing it, he will let go and just stand there playing with a toy or something like that- he can stand for a really long time, but then he just falls and lands on his bottom.

Now when he wakes up in the morning and if you don’t get him up he will go back to sleep and sleep for a while (that is a nice trick for the weekends- when both of us want to sleep in). He is holding his own bottle and twists and turns it while drinking (we aren’t sure why, but he seems to love to do it). He drinks out of a sippy cup, but dribbles a lot so we are trying to teach him how to use a straw cup… He eats pretty much anything except peas- all baby food of course, we are scared to try any other adult food… He loves the baby crackers they make and the fruit wheels and stars.

He RUNS in his walker and as I have said before he follows us everywhere, he even looks behind him when he is backing up like he is driving a car and needs to look where he is going- he uses the walker like a bumper car and loves to run into the backs of your legs, it hurts so bad, at least he is only 8 months and doesn’t know any better if he knew better we would have a problem on our hands. He also LOVES chasing the dog and I’m pretty sure she likes it to, its become a game- I’m just scared she will get squashed between the walker and a wall some time soon.

Apparently he is a pacifier stealer, he also takes toys and pretty much what ever else he can get from weaker, smaller children in the nursery, in short he is becoming a bully. I have seen it first hand and tried to stop it but no matter what you say he still takes other kids binkies. Don’t worry I am not bragging about this- it is more of an embarrassment than something to brag about, but we hope and pray that his bullying stage will be short lived and he will turn a new leaf as he grows up.

Logan is so vocal now that there are times I wish I had ear plugs! Chris believes with all his heart that it is my fault he is so loud, he says that Logan is loud like his mother. But, I believe it is just Logan showing up that Doctor who said that because he is so advanced in his mobility that he would slack off in his verbal skills. I believe he wants to prove her wrong and show her that he can do both well.

After all these months of torture Logan finally has 1 tooth- thats right only 1! It poked through about 2 weeks ago and has been growing in since. I am sure there are others in there wanting to come out, but for some reason they haven’t shown up yet- hopefully soon, because I am tired of this teething thing. When he smiles you can see it and its so cute- he’s like a little pumpkin- you know the jack-o-lanterns who only have one tooth- hehe

Logan has had a rash for a few weeks now and we are almost completely rid of it, but every time it is ALMOST completely gone we stop treatment and it comes back- (I know we are bad parents) anyway, while he has the rash we have been giving him nuddy time- he LOVES it- I guess he is a true boy =) Here he is watching TV naked- he is so funny, he has such fun naked…Why isn’t playing clothed nearly as fun as playing naked to a baby? guess we will never know =) Hopefully he grows out of this stage or we will have a streaker on our hands – hehe!

Well, I guess that is all I have for our update this time…

Thank you Lord for the amazing friends and family you gave us! We thank you for keeping us safe this past year and for providing for us in unbelievable ways!

Long awaited arrival. . .

WARNING: This is a post about Apple Computers

It has been 4 years since I bought my last computer. And this time last year, I realized that the good ol’ G4 “quicksilver” was on it’s way out. It’s processors (Dual 876Mhz) just could not keep up, even with 2 gb’s of ram. So I started saving. Back in the spring, Apple released their new MacBook Pro’s, which had Intel processors which meant they could run the Windows OS. Don’t get me wrong, I hate windows, but if I got a “MBP” then I could use it for work by running Windows on it. I have never had my own laptop, so I guess the idea of having a portable, take with me, Mac really appealed to me.

One rule of thumb one should follow with technology is to never buy the first generation of a new machine. So, I decided to wait for the second generation, which promised to have the new Intel Core 2 Duo processors. The processors were “released” in September and I figured it was only a matter of a small amount of time that the new MBP’s would be released. Well, I waited, and read rumors, and waited and read more rumors. FINALLY, on October 24th, Apple released them. I was SOOOO excited, i couldn’t hold my excitement in, (yes, i admit I am a dork, so what?!?) Well, I ordered it online that morning and to make this short – I FINALLY got it on Wednesday November 15th.

I was busy with work, so it actually took me a few days before I could even begin to think about setting the computer up, but after several hours, I had it ready to go. It works beautifully, and looks beautiful. I really like it. I expect to get my copy of Windows XP Pro this week and using “Parallels” i will be able to run Windows and OS X at the same time. So cool! It comes with a remote(the white rectangle on the laptop, to the right) which i can use to run Front Row and the keyboard is ambiant light sensitive, so when it gets dark, the keyboard lights up.
