Picture of the Day

For the last few months (since Logan started to crawl) we have been putting him in what we call a play pen – its these plastic gates that hook together and make a circle- Logan used to love it – now he stands at the gate and screams over it hoping to make enough noise to annoy us into letting him out- silly goose… He spends most of his time in there screaming or, trying to break out- I must say he has become very good at breaking free- maybe we are watching too much Prison Break? Here he is- right before this picture he was screaming, but once you pull out the camera, he becomes a ham and starts to smile.

Splish Splash I was takin’ a bath…

The other night I was out at my parents with Logan and he got so dirty eating dinner we stuck him in the sink and gave him a bath ~ he had a great time and got the entire area and ground around the sink, soaked…  I think we all had just as much fun giving him the bath as he had getting one.

Fluffy Zoo Animals

We were invited by some friends (the Harlans) to go with them to the zoo, on Saturday. It was such a beautiful day and we were trying to think of a nice place to go to get outside and enjoy the weather, so we were very excited and accepted without hesitation.

We didn’t get out of the house until late morning and then got stuck on rt 76, we got to the zoo around 1- 1:30 and FINALLY found a parking spot I guess everyone else had the same idea we had- go to the zoo!!!

We got in and started our outing- first we enjoyed the “Rare animal conservation center” they had it pretty dark in there and the first animal we saw was fruit bats- eeeww- they were pretty cool I have to admit but if I had one flying at me in the dark I think I wouldn’t think they were nearly as neat… They had a few monkeys and so other strange animals.

We then went along and saw the kangaroos- then into the reptile and amphibian house- we saw tons of snakes, and some turtles- they were pretty cute, there was one we all swore was stuck underwater between the glass and a tree branch- the crowd grew and grew and when it finally got free we all breathed a sigh of relief- I heard all these women telling their husbands to do something- and the husbands were like “what can I do?” it was kind of funny! Now looking back I think it is just a trick the turtle learned to get some attention- because when competing with poisonous snakes you have to do something exciting to get a little attention…

We then went on and saw the hippos, rhinos (or really the one rhino), yaks eew they smell, and the elephants! by this time we are realizing that we are running out of time and we need to get a few more things done- but we decided to stop for something to eat, that took forever because the line was so long and didn’t move very fast at all… We then went thru the “Big cat falls” and by the time we came out of that we had to leave, and then we ended up going back the way we came- so we didn’t see anything else.

We had a blast and Logan was as good as gold- he slept the entire ride down and the whole ride home. He liked the animals, but didn’t know what to make out of them, he kind of liked all the people too- so I don’t think he knew what we were looking at- the people or the animals…

Thank you so much Lane and Jessica for inviting us! We had a great time!
