First Birthday Party
I know we are more than a month late on this blog, but we finally loaded the birthday party pictures.
On Logan’s actual birthday Chris Logan and I had a small celebration and had a yummy dinner and ice cream cake for desert. I thought for sure Logan would love ice cream cake since he is his mothers child in that he LOVES sweets… Logan has had ice cream before and he has had cake before, but he has never had ice cream cake and I thought that for his birthday it would be a nice present to let him get as dirty as he wanted so I gave him a small slice of cake on his high chair and let him go to town…. Well, he made a mess, but he didn’t really care for the ice cream cake- I think it was too cold, so he didn’t want to pick it up it was too cold for his hands and by the time it made it to his mouth he was so upset about his freezing fingers, barely any made it into his mouth and then his mouth was cold so he freaked out about that- needless to say it was not the hit I thought it would be
The day of the party we had mostly all family and a few close friends with a few kids, we were trying to keep numbers down but we also wanted to have a few kids there to help make it seem more like a one year olds birthday… If you weren’t invited, please don’t be offended, believe me you didn’t miss much. When everyone arrived Logan was still napping- so we woke him up and then went directly into the cake, then we watched the video Chris made about his first year. After that most of the people left and once there were only a few of us left we opened gifts. We had told everyone not to bring gifts so we decided not to open them until most people were gone so no one felt bad about not bringing anything. Logan started to get the idea and he would actually rip the paper, but then he would want to play with the paper he had ripped off, so unwrapping was a LONG process…
After that EVERYONE left and Logan was so tired he took another nap, we were so tired Chris and I joined him.
