New Baby- 18 months

My pregnant belly when I was pregnant with Logan… Don’t worry I’m not quite that big yet, soon though- this time i seem to be growing faster…

Well, it is a sad thing that we are 18 weeks pregnant and have only written about this baby once or twice, the poor thing is being neglected…

As I said I am 18 weeks along, I am feeling ok, the mornings are still a little rough, but it is slowly going away, I am getting less and less tired every week. Logan sure knows how to run me ragged though…

We go on the 25th for our 20 week ultra sound. With Logan we actually went when I was 18 weeks and we went on Sept. 28, 2005. So we are going for our second one with in the same week, craziness!!!

I guess this is why we haven’t written about this baby, there isn’t much to say… She/ he seems fine so far, we had a 10 week ultra sound and the baby looked healthy, and happy… We are praying for a healthy mommy and baby this time… We are planning to find out what we are having… We can’t stand the wait… I would love to hear what everyone thinks we are having – so if you want to guess, please leave a reply and let me know your guess…

I can feel this baby kicking all the time, it is way more active than Logan was (which slightly scares me) what kids could be more active than Logan – EECK…

1 day old…
Anyway, Logan is now 18 months- I can’t believe how big he is- he is beyond active, but he can sit and watch TV if I need a break to get things done, his favorite things to watch are Blues Clues, Elmo, and Sesame Street…  We have also tried Monsters Inc., Peter Pan, Babe, The Jungle Book, and a few other kids movies, although he seems to enjoy them, I think some of them aren’t as captivating as others… We are really trying to keep him from watching too much TV- no one wants an 18 month old couch potato ;)

He is learning new things every day… It is so fun, here and there he will whip out a new word- but he doesn’t use them regularly… He says mama and daddy, kitty, puppy, pop pop, and a few other random words… It cracks me up when he just says a word out of the clear blue, it make me wonder- he is defiantly holding out on us- he for sure knows what we are saying and how to say things- he is just playing dumb…

Logan LOVES playing outside… he LOVES to swim, he now floats around the pool on his own with water wings on, he knows how to turn himself around and he tries to swim, he is starting to get it…  I think he enjoys his independence, he really seems to like to be able to do what ever he wants, and not have to hold on to anyone, or anything…  It cracks us up watching him, he’s like a little duck floating around…

last year at this time…
Logan enjoys using his creative side- he loves to color and side walk chalk is the best thing ever!!! He throws fits every time it is time to come back inside…

On the bad side of things, I think the terrible twos have hit!!! He now throws temper tantrums every time he doesn’t get his way, he throws them EVERY where, church is the main place, only because we are there 4 times a week… Let me tell you the terrible twos are exactly as they are called- terrible!!! I feel like all I do all day is fight with Logan over stupid things, it is now that you start to pick your battles… why fight over tiny stuff…

I guess I shouldn’t end on such a sour note… Logan is such a blessing to us, we are so privileged to have him as our son, there are days when all I want to do is kiss him from morning to night and praise God that he gave us this miracle… Logan has a wonderful personality and I know God has plans for him. He is so smiley and he loves to give me hugs and cuddles every once in awhile… He is so perfect for me- I am so thankful and happy to know that I have two children, and both are miracles from God… ;)

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

Oh Canada- Part 2

No its not your computer- something happened with our web site and we lost- Oh Canada Part 2…

I can’t really remember what I wrote last time so I will quickly review what I might have written and that way you won’t have to read it twice and those of you who missed the first one will get an over view…

As I said in the last post, Canada was so wonderful, not nearly as relaxing as it would have been with out an active 16 month old, but what can you do we are parents now…

We did so many fun things… We went to chapel on Sunday- it is nice to worship the Lord out side in the beautiful world he created… We went to the beach one day, we roasted hot dogs and did a lot of water sports. Logan had a BLAST playing in the sand with Connor (my cousins son)… For some reason he got attached to a plastic spoon and carried it around ALL day- it was weird…

We had a few days of nice weather and we spent most of those days sitting on the dock watching the water sports, and relaxing- Well, that is what everyone else did, we ran back and forth in and out of the water with Logan… He was none stop, the only time we got a break was when he was napping… Thank the Lord for naps!!!

Logan (our little fish) was in the water almost the whole time… He loved it even though it is FREEZING! He spent much of the time swimming naked (why waste the expensive swimmy diaper when you don’t have to)… We only had one major accident (he pooped on the dock- funny but gross)… Chris, who is also part fish, spent most of the time with Logan in the water, (chris was fully dressed, sorry to disappoint some of you;)) since I refused to get in past my knees- it was way to cold for swimming…

When I was younger my Uncle Ed enjoyed playing with us kids, and ended up with the nick name (E.D.- Evil Doer) He would mostly throw us in the water and lock us in the club house… Well, the Evil Doer has gone into hiding since most of us are grown now- but he is threatening to come back when Logan is old enough to swim… He once threw my brother in when he didn’t know how to swim and he has never lived it down, so I think this time he will wait until he is sure Logan knows how to swim… ;)

We had a few rainy days, and had to spend a day or two indoors… My dad prepared an “Alyen Lake” version of The Amazing Race - if some of you have not seen the show, it is where they have teams of two racing around the world, following clues – They have a “pit stop” at the end of every show and the last team to arrive gets eliminated… Well, we raced around the lake following the clues, we had 3 teams of 6 or 7 and after learning from experience, that all the teams can be getting to the same clue at the same time (people got hurt- yes someone was taken to the hospital…) we had different “legs” so we all raced the different legs and were timed… We had a Blast!!!

At the end of the week we all head home- its a 12 to 14 hour drive and everyone likes to get started at different times. My parents left Saturday night at midnight (crazy people), Aunt Diane and Uncle Ed along with Aaron, Kristen, Seth, Luke and Grandpop left at 5 in the morning… And we were last to leave at 7am Sunday morning… As we were driving we were talking about all the crazy mishaps that have happened through out the years- driving 600 miles to Canada and 600 miles home something is bound to happen some times… We have had blow outs, we have had accidents, some bad, some not so bad… Last year my parents car broke down and they got stuck at the cabin for an extra few days (poor poor people having to have a few extra days of vacation…) Well, this year was our turn… We hit a deer- A Big deer… We were pulling both our jet skis behind our nissan pathfinder, and we hit the deer going 50 miles an hour – that thing was dead (D-E-D Dead, quote from Robin Hood Men in Tights- sorry I love that movie) Not realizing that we were going to have a police come out and take a statement, I took tons of pictures of the car, and a few of the remains of the deer- it wasn’t as messed up as I thought it would be after being hit and run over by a car and a trailer… EEEEWWWW… I am sorry to tell you hunters out there- it was a Male deer- he didn’t have any antlers, but he may have made a nice meal ;)
We ended up having to wait for the police to come and for him to write up a report- it set us back 2 hours, which in a 12-14 hour trip to add two hours REALLY stinks…

Oh well! The car was fine to drive home and we made it in one piece… Our insurance was so great and we have our car back and it looks like brand new!

Ok, well this wasn’t as short as I was thinking it would be, but it works…

Here are a few cute pictures from our trip:

isn’t he so cute

here he is on the way up- watching his movie on Chris’ lap top =)

Our other child and this is what you do when you don’t want to be in the lake anymore- use a bucket ;)
