Bath Tub Buddies

Enough about us, back to the reason why you visit this site… Logan…
Every night when we give Logan a Bath- Ashlea wants to get in too- She is such a strange dog- she HATES the water and refuses to swim, even when she is sweating hot- BUT bath time is different- she jumps in every time we are not quick enough to stop her… Logan thinks its SO funny and they have a good time in the tub together… I guess soon we will have two in the bath tub together anyway right? why not start out with one being the dog???

Cruise’n – Tuesday & Wednesday

us again
Tuesday we went on another excursion, (this one was Chris’ choice) it was a “famous homes and hideaways tour” it was simply a boat taking you around pointing out homes and interesting facts about them- BORING!!! well, it was for me- Chris Loved it… after the tour we went back to the ship ate lunch and packed our bags for the beach… In order to get to the beach you can take a bus, or a taxi- the bus seemed cheaper- so we walked a few blocks- and stood in the smoldering heat, crammed together with about a hundred other people waiting for the same bus, I thought I was going to die- I was never claustrophobic but that day it sent me into a panic- I thought for sure I would pass out I was so cramped and HOT!!! but of course I made it- we had to wait like that for 30 minutes, then the bus ride took 30 minutes- wow is that scary… they drive on the wrong side of the car AND the road there, so it was weird, and the roads are TINY and they go so fast you swear someone is going to be killed…

the very crowded horseshoe bay beach, and the rocks that surrounded it..

The beach was beautiful… They call the beaches “pink” because they have a pink tint in the sand… it was crazy the bus drops you off at the top of this huge hill, you have to slowly make your way down to the beach, and when you are done you have to walk back up that hill, being 5 1/2 months pregnant- I was not going to make it back up that hill… LUCKILY there was a smart man who asked a dollar a person for a ride back up the hill in his van- there was a VERY long line waiting for this van- he came and went two or three times, before we got in.. It was crazy, but WELL WORTH the 2 dollars spent… We sat on the beach for 2 or so hours we got in the water and people watched (what could people be thinking when they pick out their bathing suits???- that is all I can say…) we had a great time, and then it was back on the bus- it took us a good 45 minutes to get home, but the bus driver dropped us off right at the cruise port so we didn’t have to walk back the few blocks- it was SO nice…

yup, its us again- you can’t seem to get away from us…

Tuesday night we decided to get in the hot tub- I know those of you who are thinking badly of me- who know the rule when you are pregnant – NO HOT TUBS!!! BUT in my defense the hot tub was no hotter than bath water and really if a hot shower doesn’t hurt the baby why would the warm hot tub… Well, it was still a stupid move on my part, because getting out of the hot tub and walking down the stairs my shoes slipped on the slippery wood and my feet flew out from under me and I hit the stairs so hard I thought for sure I had broken a rib and killed the baby… I was fine- the baby was fine, I was just super embarrassed and bruised PRETTY badly… ok very badly- it still hurts… The doctor was not in so we decided to wait until the morning, see how I felt, see if the baby seemed ok and go from there. EVERYONE (me and the baby) were fine… This child either loves the rocking boat or hates it- he didn’t stop moving the entire time we were away… I got checked out today and the baby is perfectly fine, and well I’m just sore and anti hot tubs for the rest of my pregnancy…

one of the places Chris explored, and St. George at night- I don’t know what the obsession with streets at night is, but this is all I could find in ways of the streets of St. George…

Wednesday Chris got up early and watched the ship leave the port- we were going from Hamilton to St. George (they are on the same island, just different areas). I slept in, then we met to eat breakfast and go explore the new port. It was SOO hot there- it was so pretty and sunny, but after having fallen the night before I was so sore and being pregnant, my body didn’t adjust very well and I felt miserable the entire time we were walking. There was pretty much one street of stores we were going in and out of and I only made it half way before Chris had to take me back to the ship and explore on his own- I felt so bad that we didn’t get to explore together, but to be honest the things chris wanted to explore didn’t interest me at all and he probably got more done without me wining and complaining…

Turtle Bay- it was So beautiful there…
Once Chris got back we went to lunch and practically ran out to another excursion- THIS ONE WAS AWESOME!!! We went on a catamaran to turtle bay- we leisurely rode out to turtle bay (this is the bay where most of the sea turtles lay their eggs…) we saw a few turtles on our way into the sandy beach, and a few leaving, but they were so scared of us that they stayed pretty far out… They took us to the beach and we were allowed to snorkel, hang out on the beach, float in the water, ride in a one person kayak or hang out on the boat… Chris went snorkeling, and I just floated around in the water- the water was 80 degrees (or so they told me) it was what I would call the perfect temperature- it was cool and refreshing, it never felt warm, but it was not freezing either… We had the best time- I kept saying to Chris- “Now this is the way to get to the beach ;) ”  no riding in a stuffy bus, then sitting on a crowded beach- It was the life ;)

in stocks at the Butterfield Bank, and the Happy couple once again… Sorry bad picture…
That night after dinner, we went out on the town, we walked through all the shops I missed earlier in the day and shopped for Logan and family members… It was a beautiful night, we got some pictures of Chris and I together (even though Chris didn’t want to)  and we had some nice alone time. It was fun! After that we were bums and just went back to our room and ate cookies and milk while we watched “Pirates of the Caribbean -3″. There is something about having someone bring us cookies and milk eating it in bed, while watching a movie, Ahh it was the life…

Cruise’n

Well, Chris and I are home safe and sound… Boy did we miss Logan… It is SAD when you can’t go on vacation with your kids, you don’t get to relax and you can’t go on vacation with out your kids you miss them too much- I guess it would be perfect if we were rich and could take our kids on vacation with us and have a baby sitter take care of him so we could sleep in and do late night things etc.- pretty much get hugs and kisses have the kids when you want them and other wise vacation by your selves…

This is what I saw the entire week ;)
I do have to say- over all Chris and I enjoyed our trip IMMENSELY! I slept in almost every morning, Chris read 3-4 books, we took naps, I GOT A SHOWER EVERYDAY!!!! (you moms out there know what I mean by that- the rest of you think I’m gross- I know…being a mom makes showering every day some times seem impossible) We had GREAT weather, we took excursions, and just enjoyed having each other to our selves…

Our ship left port in Philadelphia at 3 o’clock on Saturday October 6th, and arrived in Hamilton Bermuda at 3 o’clock on Monday- on Sunday we were at sea all day- we slept in, ate a lunch (I learned fast that I can’t skip breakfast on the ship- I almost passed out I was so hungry) and sat out in the sun on the deck- the wind was blowing and with the ship going up and down- I fell asleep and took a nice nap… Chris read, and explored…

on the sunset cruise- what a cute couple ;)

Monday night we took a sunset cruise- it was one of the excursions we decided we wanted to go on- it was a beautiful clear night and it was the perfect temperature- It was very romantic- and both Chris and I enjoyed it a lot!!! Once we got back- we had missed dinner completely, so we decided to check out one of the local restaurants… We ate at the pickled onion- it was pretty much like a place you would go here- it was nice and it had a nice atmosphere, the food was more expensive than it would have been here- but thats because their cost of living is much higher there (minimum wage was $17-$18)…

The streets of Hamilton after dark, and our boat in the moon light…
I’m not going to bore you any more in this post so I will complete our week in a day or two- not that any of you care, you just like looking at the pictures… ;)
