What the heck is Twitter?

It’s been a long time since I (chris) have posted, but I think I am going to get back into it a little bit here on this site (to my wife’s displeasure I am sure. )

One of the current fads getting a lot of news these days is Twitter. I recently went to a small real estate conference that had more than a few sessions on social networking and specifically twitter. It gave me a ton of info. If you don’t know anything about Twitter and would like to, below is a short video that explains it all. In addition, you can look me up and “follow me” on twitter if you would like, just go to http://www.twitter.com/chris_lagarde  and follow me there.

The part I find fascinating is that you can actually look up people that are geographically near by you and find people in your area that have similar interests. It’s like one big public instant message. So, check it out.

Dedication

_MG_0774.JPG

On May 10th, 2009 we dedicated Grayson… (here is the prayer and verse we chose for him)

IMG_4267.JPG

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You so much for sending Grayson to us, what a blessing it is to know that you created him to fit into our family perfectly! Lord, our prayer is that Gray would grow up strong, healthy and to be a man of God. That he would lead courageously, accept responsibility, reject passivity and expect God’s greater reward. A man that would not only know OF you, but a man who KNOWS you, that he would know right and wrong and be strong enough to choose wisely! We pray, you would help us to be the best parents we can be, that we would lean on you always and remember that Grayson is really yours. Lord God, we pray you would protect and guide him and that he would follow the Lord our God with all his heart, mind, and soul… In your Precious Name we pray these things, Amen

His Verse…

Exodus 31:3 …I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts…

IMG_9544.JPG

(since that prayer was too long, it ended up this is the prayer everyone saw)

Lord, Thank You for blessing us with Grayson!  Please guide and direct us to be the best Godly parents we can be.  We pray Grayson would come to know you at an early age, that you would give him wisdom and knowledge. That you would influence and protect him, and that he would follow you with all his heart, mind, and soul… In your Name, Amen

Who knew our sweet little Grayson would come screaming into this world and not stop for 8 months, he threw our world upside down and even though it was hard, he was worth every minute, none of us could imagine life without our little Gray Gray… He can be so gentle and sweet, he can be so rough and tumble, he can cry and smile  at the same time, he can love and he can light up our world… people are instantly attracted to him even when he is angry and screaming… My son you have a gift, you are a leader and I know some day the Lord will use you in amazing ways… We love you sweet Gray and we can’t imagine life without you!!! We have learned this year that even though we think of Logan and Grayson as our children they are really God’s and he is letting us borrow them and he could take them back at anytime… That scares and hurts every parent out there…  Our dear friends lost their daughter back in Feb. and she shared this poem with us, I cried the whole way through it and thought I would share it with all of you…

I’ll lend you a child

“I’ll lend you for a little time a child of mine” He said.
“For you to love the while she lives, and mourn for her when she’s dead.
It may be six or seven years or twenty-two or three,
But will you till I call her back, take care of her for me?
She’ll bring her smiles to gladden you, and should her stay be brief,
You’ll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked this wide world over in my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love, nor count the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to take her back again?

I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief I’ll run.
We’ll shelter her with tenderness; we’ll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve know forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.”
