Dedication

_MG_0774.JPG

On May 10th, 2009 we dedicated Grayson… (here is the prayer and verse we chose for him)

IMG_4267.JPG

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You so much for sending Grayson to us, what a blessing it is to know that you created him to fit into our family perfectly! Lord, our prayer is that Gray would grow up strong, healthy and to be a man of God. That he would lead courageously, accept responsibility, reject passivity and expect God’s greater reward. A man that would not only know OF you, but a man who KNOWS you, that he would know right and wrong and be strong enough to choose wisely! We pray, you would help us to be the best parents we can be, that we would lean on you always and remember that Grayson is really yours. Lord God, we pray you would protect and guide him and that he would follow the Lord our God with all his heart, mind, and soul… In your Precious Name we pray these things, Amen

His Verse…

Exodus 31:3 …I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts…

(since that prayer was too long, it ended up this is the prayer everyone saw)

Lord, Thank You for blessing us with Grayson!  Please guide and direct us to be the best Godly parents we can be.  We pray Grayson would come to know you at an early age, that you would give him wisdom and knowledge. That you would influence and protect him, and that he would follow you with all his heart, mind, and soul… In your Name, Amen

Who knew our sweet little Grayson would come screaming into this world and not stop for 8 months, he threw our world upside down and even though it was hard, he was worth every minute, none of us could imagine life without our little Gray Gray… He can be so gentle and sweet, he can be so rough and tumble, he can cry and smile  at the same time, he can love and he can light up our world… people are instantly attracted to him even when he is angry and screaming… My son you have a gift, you are a leader and I know some day the Lord will use you in amazing ways… We love you sweet Gray and we can’t imagine life without you!!! XOXO <3  Mommy

We have learned this year that even though we think of Logan and Grayson as our children they are really God’s and he is letting us borrow them and he could take them back at anytime… That scares and hurts every parent out there…  Our dear friends lost their daughter back in Feb. and she shared this poem with us, I cried the whole way through it and thought I would share it with all of you…

I’ll lend you a child

“I’ll lend you for a little time a child of mine” He said.
“For you to love the while she lives, and mourn for her when she’s dead.
It may be six or seven years or twenty-two or three,
But will you till I call her back, take care of her for me?
She’ll bring her smiles to gladden you, and should her stay be brief,
You’ll have her lovely memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked this wide world over in my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes, I have selected you.
Now will you give her all your love, nor count the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to call to take her back again?

I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief I’ll run.
We’ll shelter her with tenderness; we’ll love her while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve know forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for her much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.”

Tubes for Grayson

IMG_9409.JPG

look at that toothy grin… I love it!!! SOOO CUTE!

As most of you know today we went to the CHOP site in Exton and Grayson had tubes put in his ears… He has been having NON STOP ear infections, it seemed like we just couldn’t get rid of them… Everyother week at the Pediatricians office and then running to the pharmacy to get an antibiotic… NOT FUN!!!

And after doing it with Logan and having such great results we have been waiting for this day… Poor baby Grayson was always miserable and his nose was always green and running… It was sad for him and hard to explain that yes his nose was green but it was because his ears and there was VERY little chance of him spreading an ear infection… Plus we just looked like slobs all the time with snot all over ALL of us since Grayson didn’t seem to know how to keep it to himself :)

So, Logan slept over at my parents in my brothers room… And we got up at 6:30 am got ready woke Gray up around 7:15am, headed out the door in the pouring rain at 7:30 and got to the office at 7:55am… When we got there they had us check him in then dress him in the cutest little yellow hospital attire, and then we waited… we sat in the waiting room for about 10 minutes then they called us back to the middle room. This room is  where we see the Dr. and anesthesiologist, the nurses weight him and check his vitals, etc. We hang out and watch TV… When Logan was there we watched Dora the Explorer, today we watched Nemo… Eventually they give him some medicine to make him “happy” they call it “giggle medicine”… all it really does is make the babies doapy and more willing to leave their parents… I need some of this medicine for the kids in the nursery on Sunday mornings :) ha ha (don’t tell my boss I said that :) ) the stuff works like magic!!! I watched as they took a little 3 year old boy out and he didn’t fuss at all, then they came for Gray and I thought “Oh no, here it goes, he’ll be the first one to throw a fit on this stuff…” to my surprise, off the nurse took him and I didn’t hear a peep out of him…

We went out to the waiting room again and MAYBE 10 minutes later they came and got us… It was so fast Chris went to the bathroom and grabbed a cup of coffee and they were calling us in… The nurse said he was out of the surgery and he did great and that he was still asleep and that she would let him sleep up to 30 minutes (don’t tell anyone we were hoping for 30 minutes:) ) it was only about 10- 15 minutes later and he woke up… We remembered that Logan woke up and moaned and groaned and was crying a lot, but I totally forgot about the nastiness that also comes… Its horrible… Grayson has a temper anyway but man it was CRAZY!!! He was thrashing around and screaming and crying and throwing a major fit for about 30 minutes, finally the nurse said she would let us go… (thank the LORD) and once in the car and headed down the road he was fine… We thought for sure he would fall asleep because she gave him extra drugs to help keep him comforable and she said they make them drowsey… NOPE wide awake… I thought “Oh no, another Logan”… They say that kids sleep a lot after having this surgery that the anesthesia stays in their system for 24 hours and that they are wobbly and out of sorts the rest of the day… I was counting on Logan naping when he had tubes put in, no such luck, he slept very little and was going, going, going that day it was crazy…

Gray stayed up the whole way to my parents to pick up Logan and then all the way to Dutchway where I wanted to get some lunch meant and cheese that was on sale… So since NONE of us had breakfast we decided to go grab something to eat in their restaurant there… Grayson ate 1 and a half pancakes and was SUPER good… he was happy happy happy… You wouldn’t even know an hour before he was throwing a HUGE fit… It was awesome!!!

After that we headed home here and Gray fell asleep in the car we brought him in and put him down and he slept from 11:30 to 2:45 and now I just put him down again at 5 pm… This has been an awesome day :) LOVE IT!!! plus now hopefully we won’t have to deal with ear infections any more!!! Praise the Lord!!!
