Being A Boy…

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Rough and tumble, climbing trees,

Cuts , scrapes, bandaged skinned knees.
Dump Trucks, fire engines, shiny red cars,

Bugs, worms, grass and dirt in a jar.

Mischievous twinkle in their bright eyes,

Little all stars and one of the guys!

Logan is ALL boy…

I love my little boy and can’t wait to meet Grayson and see what he is like.

Whats in a name?

Monday, November 5th, 2007

A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet… Oh romeo… oh romeo…

NO we are not naming our newest member ROMEO- although I have always wanted a dog with that name! We HAVE finally decided on a name though!

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!

Grayson Taylor is the name of our newest member of the family! Grayson means “one of knowledge”, and Taylor means “gifted”- so we will have a son who is a gifted one of knowledge ;) well, hopefully ;)

Grayson is a name Chris REALLY liked, I like it but I’m a little nervous because it isn’t a common name- plus Grayson sounds cool, but what if the kid is a dork- it could really be a problem… We decided on Taylor because we were thinking about Tyler, but my both of my grandmothers had a set of grandparents with the last name Taylor- so it was a pretty neat family name… Since Logan is “Christopher Logan” it will be nice to have my side of the family in this child’s name… Plus then we can still use Tyler next time if we have another boy… ;)

I know that Grayson is not a normal name, and to be honest, since it is unusual, I know some of you may not like it, BUT it is what we choose and I truly believe this little one, will make the name Grayson into a popular name ;)

I guess we will be calling him Gray for short- so please don’t call him grace- that is REALLY dorky… According to the web site, “How many are there of me?” there are NO Grayson’s in the United States… I know that is probably not true, BUT, at least we don’t have to worry about him going to school with 5 other Grayson’s ;)

I found this information on the internet- and I thought it was interesting… Guess both names derive from workers… Steward and Tailor… weird…

GRAYSON
Gender: Masculine
Usage: English
Pronounced: GRAY-sun [key]
From a surname meaning “son of the steward”, derived from Middle English greyve “steward”.

TAYLOR
Gender: Masculine & Feminine
Usage: English
Pronounced: TAY-lur [key]
Derived from Middle English taillour meaning “cutter of cloth”. Originally this was a surname which denoted someone who was a tailor.

I am now 26 weeks along, and all is going well, and looking great! Thanks for all your prayers and hopefully in another few months we will all get to meet a healthy, happy baby boy- Grayson Taylor!

Trick or Treat 2007

TRICK OR TREAT!

Halloween was so fun again this year- having a kid to dress up makes things way more fun!!! We tried Logan’s costume on 2 weeks ago and it fit perfectly- we put it on him the night before Halloween and it was too small- the feet were up around his shins and it looked like he was a levitating turtle- it was really funny!!! Oh well, you work with what you’ve got…
Since Jake and Logan were both going to be a turtle, we were going to make Logan a toddler mutant ninja turtle- but couldn’t find all the stuff to do it- sorry to disappoint those of you who were looking forward to that and thought that would be funny!

From left to right- Aubrey (Cinderella), Logan (turtle), Maddie (snow white), Jake (turtle)
We celebrated with our small group- we met at the McLaughlins and trick or treated their neighborhood… We had two princesses and two turtles- how ironic…

I think Logan was still a little to young, he didn’t quite get the whole idea, and wanted to eat the candy right away- well what kid doesn’t- it was just a major fight keeping it away from him- it was still TONS of fun and we had a lot of laughs. Little kids walking around dressed as animals- hilarious!!!

Here are some pictures to make you all smile…

Aubrey must have mistaken Logan for a frog, because kissing a turtle doesn’t get you a prince…

Aubrey and Logan      and       Maddie and Jake- Aren’t they so cute!!!

Logan stole Jakes turtle shell and was using it as a hat…

(from left to right)- Aubrey, Maddie, Logan, and Jake…

A reminder of last year ;) How cute- I can’t believe the difference a year makes- they are all huge now- and next year we will have a bunch more kids to add to the craziness!
