Ok, for those of you who noticed I wasn’t online thursday through Saturday, this is why. Simply - comcast. I will tell you, while i have had a decent connection through them, their customer service and tech support is almost worthless. Here is a short recap -
Thursday afternoon they came to install their phone service, which i had ordered. The guy had to put in a new modem for that, great, no problem. Well, once everything was done, i couldn’t get online. I kept hitting this stupid comcast screen. In the end, i am not even sure what the deal was , but something was messed up and when i would call tech support they told me originally it would take 24 - 48 hours. Well, I work from home and the internet connection is extremely vital to me. So this didn’t make me to happy.
In between thursday and Saturday i must have called at least 12 times. Every time, i got someone who clearly didn’t know what to do, nor did they really care to resolve my problem. Finally, on saturday they told me it would be another 24 -48 hours. So i called several more times trying to get someone to help me understand what the issue was. Finally I got someone who cared enough to help me.
We basically set it up for my old modem to work while keeping the phone modem plugged in for the phone. That worked. The frustrating thing is that that could have happened on Thursday had I reached a good tech person who actually cared.
