If you invest in stocks, Apple Computer (AAPL) is a MUST buy. If you have some already, buy more. Seriously. Here are just a FEW of my reasons:

1. They have tremendous momentum, not just with iPod’s, but even more importantly with their laptops and desktops. The last quarter was huge for those products, the largest in company history, in fact.
2. Their share of the pc market is on it’s way up and it most likely will not slow down anytime soon.

3. In the earnings conf call on wed Steve jobs said “Looking forward, 2007 is likely to be one of the most exciting new product years in Apple’s history.” They will release the new OS X, which is promising to be a BIG release; they are going to start selling “iTV” in the first quarter of 07; they are going to start selling their long awaited, much rumored “iPhone”; not to mention they will come out with a new “real” video iPod that will just destroy the Zune; and their product line for PC’s is just looking better and better all the time. ‘Nuf said?
4. Analysts are saying that apple is a good buy. And buy sometime before Macworld 07 which happens in january.
I have owned stock since March of 2005 and bought more consistently since then. It is up an average of 47% for me. That is a 47% return in 1.5 years. Last time I checked, banks gave you, MAYBE 5%, maybe? Unless Cupertino CA gets swallowed in an Earthquake, buying apple stock is pretty much guaranteed to bring a return.

Last piece of advice, buy sometime in the next two months. At the moment the stock price is slightly inflated, due to the recent release of their financials.

Ok, so April will kill me for putting this up b/c it makes our place look unkempt. But truth be told, everyones place gets like that at some point. April had to rush out the door this morning to the new mom’s coffee at CFC, and had to leave this pile of laundry, temporarily.

Anyway, as Ashlea likes to do, she burried underneath it, and the result is above. We love her so much.

King of the Hill – CHURCH!

April accuses me of getting too many toys. I agree, for the most part. But, this purchase is one that I just won’t regret. I just got a Dell 24″ wide screen monitor, plus an Ergotron “Neo-Flex” lcd stand. These two together basically give my desk back to me. Before, i had the monstor 22″ CRT monitor which just overwhelmed my desk. As you can tell from the pictures, this set up takes very minimal space from my desk. Plus, with the stand, i can easily move or adjust the monitor however i want.
Another great feature of this monitor is that it allows for both a VGA and DVI connection simultaniously, which i have the DVI connected to my mac, and the VGA is connected to my Windows machine, with a kvm being used to connect one keyboard and mouse to both machines. It is working well. In addition this monitor can handle HD tv, as well as S-video and a bunch of memory cards.
Actually, had been waiting for a several months for this monitor to go on sale. I believe it is still on sale through dell.

FINALLY! I have my new office set up. I am SOOO excited. Just ask April, it is all i have been talking about. . . well almost. We do have a baby on the way. Some may be asking – WHY THE HECK would you put your office in a cold, dark basement? This is why -

I was using an upstairs room for my office, and if any of you know me, i am not great at organizing on the fly. When having time to think through my organization, i am good. But when things get outta hand, and I am busy, unless something has a place, i don’t have a clue where to put it. And as a result, things get really messy, like a bomb hit. Then it weighs on me mentally, and i begin to get very distracted by the mess.

So naturally, this small space i was in, with no real storage or shelving, was not good for me. I truly made a mess of it. This is the reason for me going to the basement. Well the main reason. The other is that when the baby comes, it will help separate me a bit more from “the action”.

Anyway, last night i brought my main set up down, organized it, kept the wires as organized as possible, and now i am typing this from my desk. It is really great. The lighting is great. That was a big problem upstairs. Now you can see, if you go to the photos page, that i have really good lighting, and when i am completely done with the basement, it will have recessed lighting which will really add a lot of light down here.
